They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. But the Bears are having to learn some new ways of doing things. After twenty-seven years of serving as campus ministers in Terre Haute, we were recently told that next year we will no longer receive a salary due to changes at the North American Mission Board and the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana.

However, God has not changed. The need has not changed. Our call has not changed. Our commitment to God's call has not changed. The only thing that has changed is the security of a salary. In order to continue to serve, we now need to raise our own support. If you would like to be a ministry partner and join God's work on our campuses, here's how to do that:

1. Tell us what you are planning to do. Click here to go to our Ministry Partner Commitment Form. If you have a problem with the form, please email us. We're told that support raising takes a minimum of six months, but we only have six weeks before the busiest time of our year, so please let us know as soon as possible what you're planning to do.

2. Send money! There are three options for giving.

You can donate via credit card at the NAMB website.
We've been told it's kind of a pain, so here is more specific info:
     Scroll down to "Support a Mission Service Corps Missionary."
     Click for either a recurring gift or a one-time gift.
     On the first screen there's a place to type in the first letter of our last name - B.
     The second screen is for your registration information.
     On the next screen, "Donation Information" near the bottom of the category there is a box that says "Designation."
     Click the arrow for a drop-down list and select either Roger or Rose from that list.

Receipts are mailed twice each month. Each receipt will contain the MSC missionary’s account number and your individual donor number. It will also have a perforated section that can be used to simplify your next support donation. Year-end statements are sent to all donors who give a total of $250 or more during the fiscal year. This statement will include the total amount given for the year. Individual receipts should be kept as further documentation, particularly for individual gifts totaling $250 or more. 3. Pray...a lot! All our ministry partners will receive a monthly prayer letter starting this fall. At first I planned to post them here, but I'm a little concerned about security issues for international students. So if you'd like a copy, just email me and I'll send it. For now I will send a compilation of excerpts from our monthly reports from the past school year. Your prayers encourage us, please the Father, and grow the kingdom.
