They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. But the Bears are having to learn some new ways of doing things. After twenty-seven years of serving as campus ministers in Terre Haute, we were  told that after December 31, 2011, we would no longer receive a salary due to changes at the North American Mission Board and the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana. 


However, God has not changed. The need has not changed. Our call has not changed. Our commitment to God's call has not changed. The only thing that has changed is the security of a salary. In order to continue to serve, we now need to raise our own support. If you would like to be a ministry partner and join God's work on our campuses, here's how to do that:


1. Tell us what you are planning to do.  Click here to go to our Ministry Partner Commitment Form. If you have a problem with the form, please email us. If we know what you're planning to give we can watch to be sure it shows up on our giving record from NAMB.

2. Send money! There are three options for giving.
        
By check

Checks must be made out to: North American Mission Board (NAMB). 

In the memo line, write R. Bear - MSC #9769.

Mail your check to

By electronic fund transfer (ETF)

Email us at pleasefeedthebears@gmail.com and we can send you a brochure for setting up an automatic bank draft.

By credit card

You can donate via credit card at the NAMB website.  (That's namb.net/givenow.)


Find "Mission Service Corps Missionary" and click on the box underneath that says, "Donate to this fund."

To the left  you will see "Sponsor Missionary."  Click on that.

Type in either "Rose Bear" or Roger Bear" in the info box and then click on "search." 


The name will appear in the box underneath in blue.  Click on the blue name and it will take you to our personal page(s).


At the top right of that page, click on the box that says "Give Now' and follow the prompts from there.

Receipts are mailed twice each month. Each receipt will contain the MSC missionary’s account number and your individual donor number.  It will also have a perforated section that can be used to simplify your next support donation. Year-end statements are sent to all donors who give a total of $250 or more during the fiscal year.  This statement will include the total amount given for the year.  Individual receipts should be kept as further documentation, particularly for individual gifts totaling  $250 or more. For questions related to your donation, contact Debbie Peterman at 770-410-6551 or dpeterman@namb.net.

3. Pray...a lot! All our ministry partners will receive a monthly prayer letter.  At first I planned to post them here, but I'm a little concerned about security issues for international students.  So if you'd like a copy, just email me and I'll send it.  We need your prayers! We are in a spiritual battle that rages on many fronts.
